The aim of the St Mary’s Secondary School Team project, Hidden Places, Hidden Faces, was an awareness campaign about Human Trafficking and to inform the public about the current laws in Ireland regarding prostitution.

This YSI project aims to address the issue of child poverty in Ireland. Through their project they wanted to investigate the extent of child poverty in Ireland and students current knowledge of the issue. They also wanted to research what support is being provided to children living in poverty and how child poverty can be reduced.

This project highlighted the need to raise awareness about the issue of domestic abuse. The team used the internet and visited websites such as Childline and Barnardos.

This project sought to explore the issue of child abuse with particular reference to the issues that are connected with physical and emotional abuse among younger children.

Sex Trafficking, It Is Happening
Mount Mercy College Cork
This project focuses on the need to create awareness of the issue of sex trafficking. Before the group could began their project they needed to find out more information on sex trafficking as well as determine the best way to educate their classmates and community on this sensitive subject. The Internet and print media proved to be a valuable source of information along with information they gathered through surveys distributed to local schools on the topic of sex trafficking.
