In-service Training

Facilitators of the YSI programme are called YSI Guides. Each Guide should attend the two workshops over the course of the year so that they become equipped in the facilitation of YSI teams and obtain certification as a YSI Guide.

Note: Exclusive access to YSI participating schools and organisations

YSI Workshop1: Getting Started (Autumn)

This workshop aims to help Guides gain an understanding of the YSI social innovation framework and programme. It focuses on the initial set up, team building, planning and running of YSI project teams as well as the underpining values of the programme. Resources, active learning methodologies, step by step guidance and sharing of information from experienced Guides make this workshop a must for YSI Guides.

Workshop 2: Advocacy(January)

This workshop aims to help YSI Guides progress the work of the YSI project team as it continues through the programme and is invited to avail of the many opportunities offered to teams such as: an advocacy platform at the YSI Speak Out provincial events; application to the YSI Den and the YSI Social Innovation Fund; on-line platforming; entry into the YSI Fun-raising Challenge and an invitation to be considered for national showcasing at the Annual Showcase of Young Social Innovators at the year end.

This workshop helps YSI Guides to prepare their teams to advocate and communicate their issue of social concern. It enables them to apply creative communication methods in simple yet effective ways.
