Altogether YSI provides a network of support, resources, platforms and opportunities to young people to get involved in social enterprises in their local areas, in every county in Ireland and in the wider world.


Why Support Us

One of our major challenges every year is raising funds to deliver the YSI programme of events and activities! We have great sponsors and partners to help us. However, this year particularly, as with many charities, YSI has reduced funding available.

YSI is a national charity. Our mission is to raise social awareness in ireland by providing social awareness education though action and platforms for young people (15-18 years) and those guiding them which will result in an enhancement of their personal sense of justice, responsibility, and capacity innate to all.

Your support and funds will help us to provide the YSI programme to more and more young people in Ireland. This year alone we are:

  • Enabling over 6,000 young people to take part this year in over 450 projects in local communities.
  • Providing training to all participating teachers and youth leaders (YSI Guides).
  • Developing new resources for young people and YSI Guides.
  • Hosting at least 12 regional Speak Out events in Ireland in 2010 to give every YSI project a platform.
  • Hosting a large scale annual showcase in May 2010 at which the title Young Social Innovators of the Year 2010 will be selected.
  • Developing new initiatives such as Make It Work, The YSI Centre of Social Innovators, the YSI Advocates for Social Justice.
