YSI Annual Showcase
What is it? It's Ireland's largest celebration of social innovation in Ireland. Tousands of young people (15-18yrs) take part in showcasing projects and one team is selected to hold the title Young Social Innovators of the Year. This exciting event, with a unique format, is a culmination of a year's work and highlights selections of work presented at regional level.
New title holders of Young Social Innovators of the Year 2010 will be chosen at this event.

- This event has direct links with over 3,000 young people on the day and has a reach of over 10,000 YSI teenage participants and over 200 second level schools in 2009-10.

Elements of the Showcase include:
- Three separate staged areas for project presentations to panels of judges
- Creating a Better World Exhibition (up to between 30-50 charity / community based organisations exhibiting)
- Open Mic Zone for students
- Award Ceremony including entertainment acts and special guest award presenters
- Various activities and workshops and other potential exhibitions

Zone and Activity Sponsorship
The following zones are identified as suitable for unique branding and sponsorship:
- YSI Food Zone - a large area where every young person will go at some stage to have a break, chat and lunch.
- YSI Open Mic Zone - a fully equipped stage and platform for young people to sing, dance and play instruments to a large audience of peers. It is always a popular feature of the Showcase!
- YSI Centre Zone - an exhibition of up to 20 second level schools participating in the pilot programme YSI Centres of Social Innovators.
- YSI Guide/teacher Zone - a special relaxation area just for the teachers. We expect over 200 teachers to attend this year. Product branding might be an opportunity for particular sponsors.
- Create your own branded space - examples of this in the past have been Mountain rescue Ireland and Garda Road Safety Unit.
- Host a workshop for sposnor a workshop - suitable for up to 2 hours in the morning; rooms for up to 50 persons available.
YSI Speak Out Theatres x 3
Each YSI Speak Out Theatre seats up to 400 people at any time. Presentations of the best and most innovative projects and their "speak out" presentations on social issues by teams. Young people can use music, drama, dance ro mime as part of their Speak Out presentation. These have been selected from YSI Regional Speak Out events and from Project Reports submitted to YSI over the year. From these presentations, the title Young Social Innovators of the Year 2010 will be selected.
YSI offers:
- Sponsorship of the YSI Speak Out theatre with branding e.g. "YSI Speak Out Theatre in association with ..."
- Logo to appear at all entrances to Theatre
- Logo and link on website
- Logo displayed in Showcase programme
- 5 x tickets to Awards Ceremony
Exhibitor Opportunities
Suitable for organisations working in the areas of education and research. The YSI Showcase is a unique opportunity to make direct contact with teachers and students in second level schools and youth services in Ireland.
For this reason the Creating a Better World Exhibition is now an integral part of the YSI Showcase each year with approximately 50 organisations working in the not-for-profit sectors. The Exhibition is given high prominence and will promote your organisation's profile amongst 2,000+ young people and teachers and also give the opportunity to learn about young people's social action projects and get their views on a wide range of social issues.
