Sponsorship Opportunities

YSI Training

YSI provides in-service training to educators each year. Educators/teachers who facilitate the YSI programme attend twice during the year - once in September and again in January. The training is held in four areas each time: Dublin, Limerick, Carrick-on-Shannon and Cork.
YSI is seeking a sponsor for its training programme.

YSI Website

The YSI website is undergoing review and revision of design. YSI is reaching a wide number of teenagers via it's website and anticipates a growth once the redesign is up and running. The website creates a fun place for young people to share information on their projects and link to tools which will help them in their YSI social action projects. It also provides a forum for teachers and centres where they can network and share best practice and new resources in the area of citizenship education.
YSI is seeking a sponsor for on-going web management and development.

YSI Fun-raising Challenge

This is a new challenge introduced in 2009 to attract innovation in how young people can create awareness aout social issues and, at the same time, raise funds needed to address issues.
YSI is looking for a company sponsor for this challenge and make a contribution to the winning project in this Challenge.

YSI Make it Work

YSI's Make it Work initiative enables young people to continue to develop their social enterprises, competences, personal courage and commitment to make a difference in the world. Projects complete an application form in March and some are selected to pitch to a panel called teh YSI Den (along the lines of the T.V's Dragon's Den). Projects which successfully pitch can access funds, mentors or other supports from the Den each year.
YSI is seeking another Enterprise Partner to work on this initiative. (Current partners comprise KPMG and Social Entrepreneurs Ireland).

YSI Centres of Social Innovators (pilot scheme)

This is a new initiative piloted by YSI (2009-10). The work is to explore how to establish YSI Centres of Social Innovators throughout Ireland. These Centres will be able to demonstrate best practice in the development and growth of social innovators and active citizens in Ireland in the future. The work of the pilot is to explore and outline how this can be done particularly ina school and youth centre setting. In 2009-10 YSI will work with up to 20 second level schools, track the learning and hopefully roll out this amazing scheme in the coming year or two. Can your company help us?
YSI is seeking a lead sponsor partner for this new initiative. The potential of this pilot should lead to all young people getting involved in YSI in the future. Get invovled early!
