YSI for Educators

What is a YSI Guide?

Young Social Innovators is facilitated by educators, teachers, youth and community leaders, youth workers and other educators in the community. Their role is to motivate, support and guide YSI project teams as they progress their YSI projects.

Why Become a YSI Guide?

There may be one or many reasons... You might:

  • are passionate about helping young learn and develop all their talents
  • understand the value of helping teenager experience that they can make a difference
  • like to develop your skills in active learning methods applied to citizenship education
  • want to share your learning your learning with other educators
  • build up your information and knowledge via the YSI resources
  • want to build a YSI Centre of Social Innovators


How do I Become a YSI Guide?

Simple! Your organisation/centre/school applies to take part in the YSI programme (September each year). If you are leading a YSI team, you should attend the YSI in-service workshops (two per year, usually September and January in an academic year). Make sure your team submits a report and attends a regional event.

You are then a YSI Guide and will be provided with acknowledgement and Certification by YSI.
