YSI 2005: Gold Partners
YSI 2005 would like to acknowledge the support of the following Gold Partner organisations.
The Irish Youth Foundation (IYF) has been a proud supporter of YSI since the 2002-2003 programme, where it presented an Outstanding Project Award.
The Irish Youth Foundation was founded in 1985 as an independent charitable trust, dedicated exclusively to meeting the needs of disadvantaged children and young people. Each year, approximately 10,000 children from around the country benefit from work carried out by groups funded by the Irish Youth Foundation in areas such as homelessness, substance abuse, poverty and social education. The mission of IYF is to financially support projects and programmes that make a positive difference in the lives of young Irish people in need. The organisation is guided by four simple values which underpin all of its work: Compassion, Respect, Expertise and Integrity.

The Combat Poverty Agency is now in its third year of supporting YSI, with the Combating Poverty Award being awarded to the most innovative, action-based, and clearly communicated project about a poverty issue within Ireland today.
Combat Poverty Agency (CPA) is a state agency working for the prevention and elimination of poverty and social exclusion. CPA is actively involved in the development of curricula and learning materials on poverty, citizenship and social change. CPA believes that exploring the issues of poverty and social exclusion can contribute to the development of social solidarity and active citizenship.
Amongst its current initiatives, CPA is working collaboratively with the City of Dublin VEC Curriculum Development Unit on Poverty, the Curriculum and the Classroom Project, which is developing models of school-community partnership in poverty awareness education.
