Age Action is a charity which promotes positive ageing and better policies and services for older people. Working with, and on behalf of, older people it aims to make Ireland the best place in the world in which to grow older. Alone | Helping Older People in Need
ALONE supports older people in need through a befriending service, long-term housing and crisis support in the community. ALONE is there for older people who are in crisis and need emergency support in their own home, at risk of homelessness and need a place to live with some supports, lonely and would like someone to visit them on a regular basis, isolated and wish to meet other older people and participate in social events. It also provides a list of publications relating to poverty and older people.
Barnardos is a children’s charity which was established in Ireland in 1962. The organisation works with vulnerable children and their families in Ireland and campaign for the rights of all children.

National Disability Authority
The National Disability Authority is the independent state body providing expert advice on disability policy and practice to the Minister. The National Disability Authority’s work guides on policies, practice, and technical standards that address the challenges to full inclusion of people with disabilities in Irish society, across a wide range of areas such as employment, housing, support services, transport, information technology and the built environment. Their vision is of an inclusive Irish society in which people with disabilities enjoy equal rights and opportunities to participate in the economic, social and cultural life of the nation, and of an environment which is accessible to all.
National Women’s Council of Ireland
The National Women’s Council of Ireland aims to promote women’s rights and equality. The organisation believes women are in a disadvantaged economic position because women are relatively absent from formal politics and local government decision-making structures, marginalising the concerns and interests of women as citizens.
