Title: Marketing and Communications Coordinator
Location: Young Social Innovators, DCU Alpha, Old Finglas Road, Glasnevin, Dublin 11 Report to:  Head of Communications
Contract: Full-time
Salary Scale: €40,000 - €50,000


The Opportunity
Young Social Innovators (YSI) is a non-profit organisation that empowers young people to use their talents, insights, passion and creativity to come up with innovative solutions to social challenges. Through fun and engaging programmes, students are supported to create team-based action-projects on issues they care about, putting their innovative ideas into action to bring about positive social change for the benefit of people, communities and the environment.

Young Social Innovators empowers young people to reimagine the world into one that is more caring, equal and fair, and to come together to bring their ideas to life. Through YSI, young people are given a voice and agency on the issues that matter to them.

As part of our Communications team, we are looking to hire a Marketing and Communications Coordinator to develop and manage our marketing content, materials, communications and PR. You will be an instrumental part of our team in promoting our brand, growing our footprint of schools, educators and youth, and supporting the wider YSI team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Brand Development and Marketing
  • Deliver Marketing and Sales strategies for all YSI programmes / offerings in Ireland and abroad
  • Create Marketing campaigns to recruit new schools, youth, and educators
  • Develop content and lead generation campaigns to support partnership development
  • Develop all promotional materials on and offline for programming, partner development, local leader outreach
  • Develop briefs for all external design work (graphics, video production, etc.)
  • Manage 3rd party design vendors to deliver on-brand within budget and on-time
  • Develop all stakeholder communications (newsletters, emails, press releases, blogs)
  • Ensure strong and consistent brand identity is applied across all campaigns, events and collateral

Communications and PR

  • Draft content and issue press releases
  • Manage, maintain the media database, company mailing lists, monthly press reports
  • Support Public Affairs requirements, as necessary
  • Provide communication support to CEO, Leadership Team, and new innovation projects, as required

The Person
Initiative and Self-Starter –
Ability to work autonomously with minimal direction, a self-starter who thinks strategically and translates high level goals to well-developed project plans and systems. Ability to use and locate new resources effectively to achieve specific objectives.

Creativity and Innovation-Ability for conceptual, innovative, critical thinking with the drive to get things done.

Communication and Teamwork-Excellent verbal, written and presentation and networking skills, with the ability to represent strategic priorities and an ability to assimilate and share learning with others internally and with external agencies.

Flexibility and Versatility—Ability to plan and manage multiple projects and deadlines with ease.

Relationship Builder- working closely with other YSI team members and outside stakeholders in order to advance YSI’s strategic and operational goals.

Additional:

  • Relevant marketing and communications experience with a minimum of 3 years’ experience in a similar role
  • Degree qualified or equivalent in a relevant discipline
  • Passion for education, youth, or children an advantage, but not required
  • Experience conceptualising, developing, executing and reporting on campaign effectiveness
  • Strong direct and digital marketing capability
  • Excellent IT skills using Microsoft Office
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Excellent writing, verbal and presentation skills
  • Desktop publishing, design and video editing skills an advantage

Location: This role is based in our Dublin office 2 days per week with remote working available on the other 3 days. Suitable access workspace and to Wi-Fi is required to avail of remote working option.
