Raising Awareness of Animal Cruelty

St. Mary's Secondary School, Convent Of Mercy, Charleville, Co. Cork

2019/20

Project Goal

To raise awareness of animal cruelty and the laws the surround it in Ireland. To clear make up bags of products that are tested on animals. To phase out products that are tested on animals from the make up bags of school staff and students.

Project Brief

Students' plan to research what is animal cruelty, and how does it differ from country to country. They also plan to research why products are tested on animals. Posters will be put around the school showing lists and images of products that are commonly used by students that are cruelty free/tested on animals. Students' hope to plan a trip to, or organise a speaker from, a local animal shelter or animal rights activist. Students' plan to hold an event within the school where students' can look at their own make up bags and correctly dispose of products that are not cruelty free.
