The Idea

The aim of the A Taste of Tipp project was to raise awareness about the range of great local produce available and to encourage people to support local businesses.

The team considered what they could do locally and what they felt most passionate about. The reason the group chose this topic was so they could encourage people to support local business as well as cut down their carbon footprint.

The Action

The team worked with the Chamber of Commerce at the Christmas Market and local Costcutters to promote the A Taste of Tipp via leaflets and tasting sessions. They created social media pages as well as worked with 20 local food providers to profile and promote the initiative.

The group surveyed people outside 5 supermarkets to measure knowledge about local produce.

The Impact

They worked with 20 local food providers to profile and promote them. They worked with the local centre to showcase them and they used the media to promote this. They also worked with the local Chamber of Commerce and got 2000 flyers distributed.
