Why We Chose It

We chose this issue because it affects a lot of people our age and we feel like we have a very important message to share.

Our Goal

We hope to give resources such as booklets, classes and lectures to our peers and future students as we know how important it is to stay positive and be body positive and happy with yourself.

Our Innovative Action

We created a positivity tree out of hands on which we asked students to write one thing they like about their physical appearance, some found it challenging but it just goes to show how important body positivity is! We also constructed a survey which we sent out around the school to find out more about how people feel about beauty standards and social media. We started to place little notes, which had compliments on them, around our school to brighten someone’s day. As well as that, we have been doing daily positive affirmations on our Instagram and weekly positive affirmations.

Our Impact

Our team has been putting in a lot of effort to make a positive difference in peoples lives. We try to post positive affirmations on our Instagram to help give people daily reminders of positive thoughts and how everyone is beautiful without having to change anything about themselves. In our school we have created our own YSI notice board where we put up different pieces of information that we feel people need to know. On this notice board we have also created a tree of hands which we have called a Positivitree!
