Tim Griffiths (Chairperson), YSI Board Member

Tim has been a supporter of social entrepreneurship for over 20 years, initially as a member of the Ashoka Support Network and more recently as CEO of Social Entrepreneurs Ireland (2021–2025). He has an in-depth understanding of the challenges facing not-for-profits, having graduated from the Strategic Perspectives in Non-Profit Management course at Harvard Business School in 2023. Tim also has over 25 years’ experience working in advertising, advising clients on their strategic business and communication needs.
 

In Their Own Words

Having started my career in London, I became the founder and Managing Director of Initiative Media Dublin, OMD Ireland and OmnicomMediaGroup Ireland, all of which were leading media communication companies. I was CEO of Social Entrepreneurs Ireland from 2021 to 2025.

Empowering young people to play a role in improving Irish society

Favourite thing about the organisation:
People who are passionate about improving the lives of others

What does YSI’s mission mean to me:
I believe that young people’s strongest role in society is in helping others grow too, and social innovation is their most powerful way to do this.

What gives me hope:
Seeing how much young people care about the society that they are growing up in.

When I’m not doing this:
I'm playing golf, cooking, traveling or trying to learn Spanish.
