Workshop Description

This workshop is designed to support YSI teams as they progress from the ‘Explore and Create’ stage of the Pathway to the ‘Test and Adapt’ stage. It will introduce them to some skills and processes that will help them to understand their social issue in a more sophisticated way and develop their proposed actions.

By the end of this workshop student attendees should be able to:

• Describe what it means to see something from a different perspective
• Empathise with different groups affected by a social issue
• Interpret a social issue from a range of perspectives
• Identify and explain a number of ways of thinking
• Apply a number of thinking skills to a social issue
• Assess a number of possible actions to address a social issue
• Compose a plan for further action based on the ideas generated during this workshop
