Tomás Sercovich, YSI Board Member

Tomás Sercovich is originally from Argentina and has been connected to Business in the Community Ireland for over 20 years, serving in a range of roles before becoming CEO in 2018. Tomás also spent six years in Madrid, leading sustainability programmes across Spain and Latin America, and has extensive experience working with European and global networks, including the World Business Council for Sustainable Development and CSR Europe.

Tomás holds a degree in International Relations and a Master’s degree from Bologna, and brings a strong international perspective to their work, with a particular interest in sustainability and responsible business.

Why I’m here:
The passion of young people to make a better world. At times when it feels we lost hope, young people can show us things can be done differently. The voice of young people in societal issues is critical for the solutions we need.
 
What I bring:
Insight into the intersection between business, social issues and driving change, a passion for sustainability and experience in non-profit leadership and governance.

Favourite thing about the organisation:
Speak out tours!

What does YSI’s mission mean to me:
Empowerment, Action, Change!

What gives me hope:
Going from denouncing the problem to proposing the solution and making action happen!

When I’m not doing this:
Love good food, travel, theatre, and music.
