About Young Social Innovators
Young Social Innovators (YSI) is a non-profit organisation that empowers young people to use their talents, insights, passion and creativity to come up with innovative solutions to social challenges. For over 25 years, our fun and engaging programmes have supported students to create team-based action-projects on issues they care about, putting their innovative ideas into action to bring about positive social change for the benefit of people, communities and the environment.
Activate is YSI's flagship programme, mainly for Transition Year students. Working in teams, students explore issues of concern to them locally, nationally or globally, engage with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), and take creative, collaborative action on the social issue they're passionate about. Around 5,000 young people take part in Activate each year.
