The Department of Rural and Community Development is one of our lead public partners. The Department supports the engagement of young people in social innovation and volunteering, so helping to build and enhance a volunteering culture in Ireland.

Department of Education

The Department of Education is one of our lead public partners. In particular, since 2020, the Department of Education Dormant Accounts Funds with Tomar Trust, jointly funds the scaling of youth led social innovation education in second level schools in Ireland.

HSE

The Health Service Executive provides funding to promote its strategies around physical, mental and sexual health amongst the youth population. The HSE recognise that youth participation in social innovation promotes positive wellbeing in young people. The HSE provides the Making Our World Healthier (Physical Wellbeing and Mental Health) Awards as well as the Relationships and Sexual Health Award.

Department of Children Equality Disability Integration and Youth

The Department of Children invests in the participation and engagement of young people in society through YSI. It provides the Making the World a better place for Young People Award each year.

Department of Social Protection

The Department of Social Protection is a longstanding partner to YSI investing in the learning and engagement of young people in combatting poverty and disadvantage in Ireland. It provides the Making our Country more Inclusive and Poverty Free Award each year.

Dublin City Council

Dublin City Council works with YSI to increase the engagement of young people at second-level education, particularly those who are disadvantaged, in social innovation and enterprise in Dublin City.

Cork City Council

Cork City Council works with YSI to raise the voice of young people at second-level education in the City’s future and increase their engagement in social innovation and enterprise.

WorldWise Global Schools

WorldWise Global Schools provides grant funding to promote global citizenship learning among young people and teachers participating in our programmes. WWGS supports the YSI Global Citizens Award presented at the Young Social Innovators of the Year Ireland Awards.

Eirgrid

Eirgrid is the Climate Action and Energy partner to Young Social Innovators empowering and recognising young people's efforts to innovate around climate and energy issues through the sponsorship of this theme and dedicated award.

Virgin Media

Virgin Media invests in promoting digital wellbeing amongst young people in Ireland. It supports the work of YSI in a variety of ways including the new Digital Innovators Award which aims to recognise young people’s positive application of digital technology for the purposes of social good and to promote digital wellbeing.

Aviva Ireland

Young Social Innovators are delighted to partner with Aviva. YSI empowers young people to reimagine the world and to come up with innovative solutions to social challenges. Amarach Research

Amárach Research is YSI’s research partner helping us to understand the changing attitudes and behaviours of Ireland’s youth. Together, we annually publish collaborative research providing valuable insights into Generation Z through the YSI GenZ Index.

Tomar Trust

Tomar Trust has a longstanding partnership with Young Social Innovators. Its goal is that YSI grows youth civic participation through social innovation in schools and local communities in Ireland. The Trust match-funds support from the Department of Education and Skills in order to scale social innovation programmes to 50% of post primary schools. Over time, young peoples’ participation in addressing community-based issues will contribute towards building much needed resilience to the challenges we face as well as strong social capital in local areas.

Community Foundation

The Community Foundation of Ireland supports the work of Young Social Innovators in various ways over the years. In particular, it is now funding the creation of a new online platform for young people to engage in social change and innovation as part of its efforts to amplify youth voice.

Sage

Students for the Advancement of Global Entrepreneurship (SAGE) hosts a Global World Cup for teenager innovators and entrepreneurs. YSI CEO, Rachel Collier, is the designated SAGE Coordinator in Ireland. Each year, a team from Ireland is selected to showcase and compete at the SAGE World Cup.

Design for Change

Young Social Innovators is the Ireland country partner to Design for Change Global, an international body with membership in some 60 countries. It hosts and invites teams from member countries, to its I CAN Summit each year.

Gaisce

YSI is a Challenge Partner to Gaisce and participation in YSI programmes counts towards the Personal Skills and Community Involvement aspect of Gaisce bronze, silver and gold awards.
