Working as a group and representing ages 12-18, members of Dublin City Comhairle na nÓg have responded to the YSI Open Call!

The group of teenagers believe that recent circumstances and government restrictions have meant that young people need to feel connected again.

Together, the Comhairle na nÓg team came up with the idea of an online space for young people to visit. From their own experience during the pandemic, they believe that a space for youth will help them to feel empowered and engaged.

The online platform will Inspire young people to express their opinions and ensure that young people still have a voice on issues that affect them. The space also offers the opportunity for young people to be creative outside of Covid-19 and could include tutorials, guest videos and speakers.

The team developed their idea further, and believe an online space could house a whole range of resources and facilities - such as materials for self care, colouring sheets for mindfulness, links to online workouts, book reviews, print-out sudoku and word search puzzles and links to online quizzes!

The group believe their idea would make a difference to the young people that visit and engage in the online platform. By facilitating a space for young people and by young people, they feel this will ensure the voice, experiences and needs of young people can be supported at this time.
